Bucket List

The Parks

There are specifically 59 protected Parks in the US. I’m pretty sure there are people who have actually visited all 59. Little ole me just would like to visit this short list in the near term. If I could actually visit half them, that would be a major accomplishment.

Yosemite National Park

Yellow Stone National Park

Grand Canyon

Acadia National Park

A nice drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the Great Smoky Mountains & Shenandoah

I’d love to see these old Sequoia trees at Sequoia National Park

Sea Stacks at Olympic National Park

The Bucket List does not only consist of National Parks, I’d like to see as much of the world as possible.

Svalbard, Norway – Aurora Borealis (aka The Northen Lights)

ReyKjavik has gotten really popular in the last couple of years as a spot to experience aurora borealis but Reykjavik actually third on the list of locations with the best sights of the lights.
Svalbard, Norway is located in the Arctic Ocean, halfway between Norway and the North Pole (perhaps I can stop by Santa Claus’s house for some hot tea). According to Norway’s visitor’s site, “Svalbard” means “cold coasts”. You don’t say!
The real question is, why would the island gal that I am be interested in the “cold coasts” close to Santa Claus’ dwelling?
Well, my answer is, why not?

Thailand – anywhere with a beautiful beach, beautiful views of sea stalks, and delicious Thai cuisine.

I am hopeful I may reach Thailand this year. Since I enjoy the parks so much, I hope to explore Khao Sok National Park.

The bucket list continues…
